We were both new to snowboarding although I had skied before. With out a decent snowfall the ground was very hard - more like ice with some snow scattered about. Given the cost of the ferry/flights and the time taken to get there it could be easier to go to Europe. You do have the advantage of a strong Euro at the moment, and you accomodation is fairly cheap. The resorts tend to fill up at the weekends if there has been good snow, so mid week is best especially if the locals schools are not on holiday. One other thing to remember is the high number of drag lifts - a real pain for a beginner snowboarder. bridge9 01-01-2009, 07:47 PM thanks every one for your help, time to make my mind up now! |
