I think for dog sledging you would have to go to Scandinavia. paul 10-13-2009, 04:55 PM Maeve most places will have tobogganing / sledding and alot of the rural places in Austria will have a local hockey team. Personally I would find this a little boring for a week, maybe you can look into somewhere that also has a spa / wellness center where you could also relax for a few of the days :D ClaireBear 10-17-2009, 04:15 PM maeve, you won't have a problem finding things to do. I have a friend who just does snow shoeing (walking in the snow with these big things on her foot) and she loves it. Here is a picture from her facebook of the snow shoes 81 Killian 10-18-2009, 01:12 AM Any advice about good resorts for accompanying non -skiers who want to be active, tobogganning, dog sleding, ice skating, etc? thanks Innsbruck and Lillehammer are good. Both also have Bobsleigh open to the public.:) xcountry 10-18-2009, 10:40 AM Maybe this is just too obvious, but how about learning to ski ? If your friends are already skiers, then you can do some lessons in the morning and meet up with them in the afternoon for a few easier runs. By the end of the week you should be going down blue and maybe red with ease. tomas 10-18-2009, 10:00 PM Maybe this is just too obvious, but how about learning to ski ? Maybe skiing isn't for everyone ? Maybe she had a bad experience. I would recommend Val Thorens, it has the longest tobogganing run in France it' 6km long. There is also an ice driving school there : http://www.icedrivingacademy.com/ which would be fun. |
