HELP! Would anyone like to suggest a packing list that will keep me under 15kgs check in limit with Ryanair? Will be renting equipment and wearing jacket, but MUST pack hairdryer!

hi siobhan, welcome to the board.

I generally bring in mu luggage :

2 fleeces (you can wash one, and wear the other, they dry fast), in fact you can wear one on the plane
Ski pants.
1 pair of jeans (and wear another one on the pair)
2 pairs of ski socks (was them after 1 or 2 days)
3 tops for going out in.
Goggles & Helmet (I stuff my underwear in them)
PJ's
4 T-shirts for under the fleece.
Pair of shoes
Suncream & Toiletries
Hairdryer ;)

And I roll all my stuff into the smallish bag, and it should fit. And

You can always wear some of the heavier things. And put your googles and some small clothe items in your pockets of your jacket that you are wearing (even your hairdryer !)

I used my hand luggage allowance. I have my own boots and helmet. These went into my checked luggage so I was right on the limit. Obviously I wore the ski coat.

I had a rucksack (small one) and stuffed 6kg into it and carried it on.

Despite restricting my clothes list to meet the weight limit, I brought clothes home that I did not wear....but of course, that won't be the case for half the world :-)

I booked a trip from Dublin to Munich with Lufthansa for €180 and they included baggage allowance and you can take skis with it. I picked lufthansa this time as I can fly in on a Thursday and out on a Monday, and not have to stay the whole week somewhere.

I had to pay 30 euros to ransport my skiis last time I went skiing in France...they charge for anything that sticks out of your tiny suitcase...I'd suggest wearing the heavier gear, like your ski coat...try and put stuff into the pockets as well...like sun cream and stuff like that.

One tip would be to get a large snowboard bag or ski bag, and take two boards or skis in a bag. My board bag can handle two boards (one mens 154cm and a 147cm smaller women's board) and my bag isn't particularly that big. I just make the bindings go into eachother, have the board bit face out and then zip the bag.
