Have you tried skiing backwards ? Have a look at this video for some ideas http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=YmIqavhdaig
Well you should learn how to pole plant properly and then try to go off piste. That will impress your friends. And if you are up for it try and see if you can do the moguls (series of bumps which can be tough on the knees)
Its been my expierance that average skiers, and I include myself in this, should stay away from tricks because all the bravery in the world wont stop you from busting yourself up.
You could try going off piste, that can be alot of fun. Just try to avoid those things that look like trees and stones. Just have a look at what other guys are doing on the slopes and copy them.

I just came across http://www.abc-of-skiing.com/skiing-tricks/ which lists a few tricks.
The Iron Cross seems cool
"The Iron Cross involves crossing your Skis once you get airborne. It requires enough height from the ground so the Tips of the Skis will not get caught in the snow throughout the trick. " But also rather dangerous unless you know what you are doing !
For 4th time skiing the best way to impress your friends would be to show them proper skiing, not tricks.
I think everybody would appreciate more your perfect parallel turns
( if you do that after 4 seasons hats off to you ) than a stupid accident out of bravery.

xcountry : that is a great video, is it real ?
I think raul is right, you should foucs on technique, get a private instructor and ask them to point out things you are doing wrong. Then go away and fix them and get a ski instructor again later on in the week, and see if they have any more advice.
I am amazed every time I go skiing and see that there are many people who can't even stop properly.
Davaldo:
Can you turn properly ?
Do Wedge turns ?
Parallel ski ?
Pole Plant ?

I agree with the others here, ditch the tricks and concentrate on some super smooth turns, practise keeping the skis equi-distant as you turn and traverse, then start linking the turns sooner.....soon enough you'll be skiing the fall-line leaving beatiful s'es behind you on the piste.....and that my friend is a thing of beauty, and beats the hell out of grinding on the edge of a picnic table anyday (besides it ruins your edges)
Remember dude.....form is temporary, class is permanent.
Try ramping off a mountain hut if you really want to make an impression:D

Try ramping off a mountain hut if you really want to make an impression:D Ha ! And don't forget to post the video if you do ! Some of the huts are kind of built into the mountain, where you can ski easly on the roof, and the drop of say 2 or 3 meters shouldn't be too bad.
