Ok, this is not your normal ad. but I guarantee you this is a real find:
A real skiers/boarders place in the mountains with excellent food, comfortable rooms and laid back informal service. All modern services such as satellite tv with the footy and Rugby, wi-fi internet and a beer bar ( with beers at just 1 Euro!) Bliss!
We can offer all Skiing.ie members the following prices for a 7 day catered
(breakfast, afternoon coffee and cakes and a 4 course evening meal with wine)
stay during the rest of this 2011 season:
January 250 Euros pp
February 325 Euros pp or 540 Euros for our Ski Safari week on Feb 5th including your lift pass in all resorts we visit
March 300 Euros pp
April 275 pp
Hurry up though we are running out of space fast!
As a side note, we are mountain lovers who , with mortgage paid off and daughter almost independent of our purse, are not in this for the money: We make a simple comfortable living and want to share what we have with like minded people who love
the white stuff.
So get to our website www.chalet-la-bas.com and prepare to become a regular visitor.
By the way the snow conditions are absolutely freaking magnificent!

Damn I thought this was flights included! The website states a couple of resorts have 5 or 10 minutes drives etc from the lifts with transport included. Is this transport a free bus service or a taxi fare/chalet host drives you up?
It looks like it's a little cut off from any village, how close is it to a nightlife spot? Oh not to be rude but the website is kind of hard to read!

lenmeister,
No flights aren't included but nice try though. Our ski safari week on Feb 5th is now fully booked
Here's some more general information that may help you. We have 1 room for 2/3 available on Feb 26th and March 4th, both for 7 days.
we also have plenty of space from March 18th to March 31st for ant duration.
Apart from that we are now fully booked for the season.
We are 5 minutes drive from the funiculaire lift in Bourg St Maurice and we provide transport free of charge "on demand" all day long. Bourg St Maurice is the hub of the Les Arcs ski area. By the way on demand means no timetable- when you want as often as you want.
A 10 minute drive from the chalet is the resort of Montchavin. This is part of the La Plagne ski area, we provide free transport there too.
A couple of times each week we visit the other nearby resorts of La Rosiere/La Thuile (Italy). The nearest list is 15 minutes away and we provide the free transport.
Val d' Isere/Tignes is accessed via Les Ecudets, the lowest and nearest village (to us) of the Espace Killy ski area. The journey takes half an hour and the transport is provided free of charge
The bars are all in Bourg St Maurice. The nightlife there is low key but the apres ski is OK. We often pick our guests up from the apres ski pubs at 7.30 to get them back here to eat their 4 course meal and enjoy the wine.
We are a chalet for people who put their time on the mountain first and foremost. If nightlife is important for you then we are not the place.
Having said that we have a beer bar here and with prices at 1 Euro a beer we can get a good atmosphere going.
Hope this has made it clearer for you.
Thanks for you interest lenmeister- any more questions just ask.
The conditions here are just about perfect: we've had 20 powder days from the last 40 and it is snowing again today.
We are sat down now (after cleaning the chalet) watching Liverpool Man U and awaiting an all girl Scandinavian group who are set to arrive later this evening ( I bet that has wet your appetite)....
Wherever you decide to go, just get out into the best European ski winter for decades
All the very best
Steve
I will be taking a trip to Chalet la Bas next week to see what Steve and Connie have offer. I'm super excited to check out the skiing in France (a first for me as I tend to go to Austria & Germany).

Well you feckin kept that quiet didn't ya! Keeping all the other rooms empty I bet :)
Sounds good though. I'll only be able to do some late skiing in April because of college. What's it like around that time? I'll be looking forward to Pauls feedback.
The first feedback is that it was an excellent experience. Steve and Connie go above and beyond to ensure that everyone has a great experience, from the accommodation to the food, and of course the skiing. 10/10
