Hi!

We run and own http://www.theskibug.fr and offer transfers from Geneva, Chambery, Lyon and Grenoble to all resorts in the Three Valleys. We also offer transfers to Les Coches and La Plagne and Peisey Vallandry.

We try to keep our prices as low as possible and offer a personal door to door service.

Please see website for prices. We also have last minute spaces for 50 Euros a seat if you can fit in with other transfers and clients.

We offer a chalet and cleaning service for Courchevel and you can advertise your ski rentals (worldwide) on our website.

I checked your prices page http://www.theskibug.fr/airport-transfers and was surprised at the costs Prices are given for a one way journey from the airport to your resort accommodation.

Lyon airport to Val Thorens is about 200km, 2.5 hours drive, and costs €450 for 8 people. That's €2.50 per km !

And have you taken into account:

Cost of buying van and wear and tear, annual commercial insurance (700 E), tolls (around 16 Euros one way from Lyon to VT), Diesel - around 50 Euros one way from Lyon to VT, French taxi licence, Swiss Taxi licence for Geneva pick ups (400 E), we have to get the van serviced every few weeks, brakes done all the time (just spent 600 E on van), public liability insurance (200 E a year).....the list goes on........not to take into account French taxis and all other things we have to pay out to run a legal business here.

With 8 people its around 56 Euros each. The bus or coach will cost you far more - its 52 Euros one way from Geneva to Moutiers. Then you have to get up the mountain.

And Lyon to VT one way is 6 or 7 hours of our time - drive to airport, pick up, drive to resort, drive home......

I agree with the ski bug, that it seems fair. Getting to the ski resorts are expensive, renting a taxi, that would also possibly wait if you are late is just got a cost to it. When you break down the fact that you have to pay a driver a few quid as well there isn't much left from your €900 for your 400km round trip (plus the extra distance they have to travel to get to you).

You might be able to get it cheaper in some situations, but you don't really want to be messing around with this especially time is of the essence.

Also would point out that Lyon or Grenoble to VT is one of the longest runs we do and most expensive in terms of fuel and tolls (all motorways) and in terms of time. Geneva to Courchevel for 8 people is 320 Euros so only 40E per person each way. We are Courchevel based so tend to do most work to Courchevel and Meribel areas.

Obviously transfers get cheaper the more people there are in your party to share the costs.

You only have to look at the reviews for the likes of Altibus on tripadvisor to see the troubles people have had - snow and they dump you in Moutiers and you have to work out your own way up the mountain, breakdown and they leave you on the side of the road, turn up an hour late and you miss your flight....plus they only drop at set places and you still need to get to your accommodation - we take you to the door of your chalet, help you with your luggage.........
