hell-o,

I've just come across this forum and I am wondering if anyone is interested in cross country skiing ? I've seen it a few times when I went to the French Alps to ski at la Plagne. I was thinking of trying it out, or would it be a big disappointment compared with downhill skiing ? I did notice that there is a lot of nice scenery at la plagne so maybe when I would be doing the cross country skiing I could enjoy that a bit more.

Also how fit would I need to be ? I can run 10km in about 50 mins, so I am in good enough shape (I hope).

Bye,
Claire

I wouldn't bother to be honest. It's too much work. Let gravity help you go fast and see things. When you are old Claire then you can start to think about cross country skiing !

Here is an email I got from a friend today :D

"I wouldn't bother cross country skiing unless you are either afraid of heights or you are getting a little bit older and more fragile. To do cross country skiing properly you need to be fit, but as you said you can run so I think that you will be okay on that one. There are different skis and boots for cross country skiing, and I'm sure you don't use the same pants or jackets , so you might need to get new stuff."
