That is the big question with people who are skiing for the first time. The main thing to remember here is that most resorts cater for all levels of skiers. All resorts offer ski schools, so you don’t have to worry about that point when picking a resort. When picking a resort you should look at the other aspects of the resort :
Locations in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria/Czech Republic) are becoming more and more popular, but we would not recommend them for the novice skiers. Other countries like France (& Andora) and Austria are the most popular destinations for Irish Skiers, with Italy coming in a close third. Where ever you go I’m sure you will enjoy it !
Here is a run down of some resorts that we can recommend for your snow holiday. These are just 2 or 3 names of resorts in each country to get you started with locations to look at. They come highly recommended by ourself and from the members of our skiing forum.
Resorts like Val d’Isère, Méribel & Chamonix are very popular in France skiing resorts.

Skiing in Pal-Arinsal, Soldeu & Pas de la Casa are the main resorts in Andora.
Austria has many top class resorts, but our top three would be Mayernhofen, Söll, Kitzbühel & Zell am See.
If you are going to Italy then you should check out Livigno & Courmayeur, these come highly recommended.
Skiing holidays are typically booked from September/October the previous year onwards, some people even before that, so get booking !
