What you need to know about skiing insurance. Skiing can be a dangerous sport, and if you are unlucky enough to be air lifted off a mountain, you could find yourself with bills in excess of €3,000. Your E111 card will cover emergency care, but will not cover your transport to the hospital or your aftercare on your return to Ireland. For this reason we would recommend that skiers should purchase an extra level of insurance that will cover you for skiing / snowboarding.
