Those guys at google have come up with some great applications for the Olympics, and the one that has everyone talking about is the addition of StreetView for many of the slopes in Whistler, Canada. They have equipped a skidoo with their google street view mapping equipment and have taken to the slopes. For the Google staff it really looks like a great day out and perhaps an excuse to play around in the snow a little bit. Now you can virtual go down the same slopes that the skiers in the Super G will hurtle down. You can experience the same fantastic views from the Whistler Blackcomb Mountains.
For more take a peak at Google SlopeView where you can see all of the venues and some of the slopes.
The Men’s Olympic downhill is now underway. Here is your virtual Olymipic Men’s downhill course. http://blog.virtualwhistler.com/?page_id=22
